freed by failure

This hit me like a ton of bricks this week… I pray… but I pray little, I read… but seldom, and seldom do I look to heaven for a “renewed freshness”

He who lives without prayer, he who lives with little prayer, he who seldom reads the Word, and he who seldom looks up to heaven for a fresh influence from on high – he will be the man whose heart will become dry and barren.

~Charles Spurgeon

from my journal:
I am humbled by the way You love, The depths You know, and trust in me.
Ev’n though I lack the love you give, The depths of grace, and “Your” pursuit

Ironically I’m freed by this:
My lack of merit, slack of works, fallen state, selfishness. lying mouth, lusting eyes, prideful heart… My endless list…
in my accomplishment of these above,
You give me grace to face You… King of Love.
