vain worship

DSCF0016-2

VAIN, a. [L. vanus; Eng. wan, wane, want.]
 1. Empty; worthless; having no substance, value or importance.

when I see these two words together my heart sinks… because I know that, in all honesty, have been guiltar of this before…. my worship (whether it is through music, actions, obedience…etc) has at some point been in vain. And what strikes me is… that it doesn’t seem as bad until you put the definition up there with “worship” especially in context of worshiping God [the Creator]….
