There is a man I know that doesn’t have feeling in his arms. I saw him walking down the street the other day and I noticed that his left arm was hanging a little more limp than usual…. I didn’t think anything of it. But then, as I studied him from a distance, I noticed that he was bleeding from a cut right above his elbow. I walked toward him and noticed that he was REALLY bleeding and he was not aware of the situation (obviously because he doesn’t have feeling in his arm). The bleeding was to the point where the blood was dripping from his finger tips onto the sidewalk… it seemed odd to me at first. The fact that people were simply walking by him… not mentioning anything to him. As I approached him I noticed his skin was pale and he was beginning to stumble and trip down the sidewalk. At that point I decided to walk away.
This was all a story… I don’t know a man who doesn’t have feeling in his arms, and didn’t see a man who doesn’t have feeling in his arms walking down the street bleeding terribly. The point? Nearly anyone observing this happening would at least stop to say: “Hey! You’re bleeding, can I help you find out how to stop [the bleeding]?”
My prayer as I write – where ever you are at in your walk, with or with out Jesus… you would approach someone who is ‘bleeding’ and help. I trust that God will give the resources and wisdom on how, and that he will draw you and that person closer to himself.
New Living Translation (NLT)
“And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’
