I hate ropes. I love fields.

Have you ever said or felt this:  “I’m at the end of my rope.”

  • Is it comfortable there? No.
  • Is it where we strive to be? No usually.
  • How long is your rope? Probably not long enough.

Question: Why don’t we live our lives on big wide fields of freshly cut green fescue instead of ropes?

Here’s what I think: We don’t end up trusting God in a comfy pasture of green. He puts us on ropes [with ends] to teach us to trust him.  Yes, pastures are nice, and God blesses us with those for a season (Ps 23:2). But he doesn’t keep us there, not yet at least…

Are you on a rope or in a field today?
