Songwriting Collaborative : John 15

In the last few weeks there have been a number of people send me songs and mention that they are writing songs – This is SO COOL. All this has stirred in me the desire to write more…. too so here is a test. Maybe we can do this more often if there is a reasonable response / contribution!

Vision:

What if we focused our hearts on one passage of scripture – putting our efforts toward writing songs or poems from that one passage of scripture?? What would happen… who would those songs touch? I KNOW they would touch the heart of God…. I think that would be well worth our effort :)

The Collaboration:

So if you write (or not) take John 15… and pray, reflected, discuss, journal, highlight, sing, around the passage… and then lets see what songs come out… They don’t have to be full “Verse-Chorus-Verse-Chorus-Bridge – repeat the Chorus”  type songs. Maybe it is just a chorus..

Once you are done – feel free to send me a link to the audio (via  http://soundcloud.com/ or something similar) or send the lyrics to jasongangwish[at]gmail.com – I’ll post them all on my blog (https://gangwish.wordpress.com) in three weeks!

Guidelines and Help:

Scripture to Songs Collective has some great guidelines to help you focus your efforts – check out their page here:

Recently I participated (and still hope to add to it) to an awesome project called “Scripture to Songs Collective” ( http://www.scripturetomusiccollective.com/) – this is such a great project – check it out and even contribute if you like!

Tag others, share, retweet

Let me know if you have any questions!
